Washington Park Neighborhood

Nestled in Atlanta's historic Westside, Washington Park is more than just a neighborhood—it's a testament to community, resilience, and a rich legacy.

As one of the city's first planned Black suburbs, our community was founded on a vision of empowerment, with homes and institutions designed and built by Black architects and contractors. This powerful history is embodied in the beautiful Craftsman and Bungalow-style homes that line our tree-lined streets.

Today, Washington Park continues to be a vibrant and close-knit community. At its heart lies the historic Washington Park itself, a cornerstone of our neighborhood since 1919 and the first recreational park for African Americans in Atlanta. With its natatorium, tennis center, and open green spaces, the park serves as a central gathering place for residents and a key link to the Atlanta BeltLine's Westside Trail.

Living in Washington Park means enjoying the best of both worlds: a quiet, suburban feel with the convenience of city living. We are a community on the rise, celebrating our past while building a bright future for all who call Washington Park home.
